The BDCT team were invited by Life Skills to participate in the Auckland Job Fair held at Go Media, Penrose. We set up a stall where we provided information about our services for both the Community Services and Whanau Ora teams. The event primarily targeted participants from high schools, tertiary institutions, and those seeking employment. Additionally, other organisations were present, offering great opportunities for engagement and networking.

Today, our team had the privilege of contributing to the Young People’s Program at Strive in Māngere. As our first presentation for the year, we delivered a session focused on promoting healthy lifestyles for young parents and their children, while highlighting the vital role of immunisations.

The aim of this event was to support the DLS Old Boys and current 1st XV rugby players with pre-game health checks, ensuring they were game-ready and well cared for. It also created a valuable opportunity to connect with the wider community and share information about the services offered by Baderdrive Community Trust. Families came together to take part in health checks, while enjoying giveaways from the team, adding to the warm, positive, and supportive atmosphere that made the day a great success.

Our Outreach Team were honoured to be part of the Kedgley Intermediate Whānau Day, connecting with families and sharing valuable information about the services we offer. It was a great opportunity to engage with the community, build relationships, and support whānau by raising awareness of the resources available to them.

We were proud to host a vibrant community day with Moana Connect, connecting with wonderful whānau and sharing the excitement of tamariki heading back to school. Seeing smiles as children received school bags filled with essentials was a powerful reminder of why this mahi matters. A big fa’afetai lava and thank you to Sanitarium Health Food Company NZ for donating over 100 Weetbix boxes, to Hubbards for healthy breakfasts, and to all our partners who helped bring this special day to life.Together, we’re building stronger, healthier communities.

Together, the Outreach Team and Whānau Ora Team spent time with residents at the McKenzie Road complex, offering free health checks, useful resources, and opportunities for kōrero. The visit reflects BDCT’s continued dedication to supporting our community and building strong connections with the diverse ethnic groups who live there.

A men’s-only event for their staff designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for open talanoa about mental health and wellbeing while also celebrating their male employees. The focus is on encouraging dialogue, sharing experiences, and fostering a sense of community among men, with an emphasis on cultural respect and holistic health. We are grateful to Strive for inviting us to be part of this important kaupapa.

We were privileged to attend the It Takes A Village: Highlighting Collective Efforts to Increase Pacific Immunisations event where the Minister of Health, Hon. Simeon Brown acknowledged the efforts of Pasifika Healthcare Providers in achieving a 10% increase in immunisation rates over the past year. This event was attended by our Community Services Manager, Esmay Mulipola, who has been leading the charge for us in this space, and Chris Faiva, our Kaiawhina. Congratulations and well done to the team at Baderdrive Community Trust and all Healthcare Providers involved in achieving this milestone.

The Outreach Team, alongside the Whānau Ora Team, spent time with residents at the Kāinga Ora complex on Bari Lane, offering free health checks, sharing helpful resources, and connecting through kōrero. This visit was part of our ongoing efforts to extend BDCT's support within the community and to build relationships with diverse ethnic groups living in the area.

Diabetes Retinal screening launch at Baderdrive Doctors this morning. Launched by the Minister of Health Simeon Brown and wonderful to have local community leaders present.The eye screening service will make it more accessible for people living with diabetes, reduce wait times and improve health outcomes such as early detection and timely treatment. Congratulations to the team at Bader drive doctors
